How To Introduce Your Dog To An RV: The Ultimate Guide

Once your dog is comfortable being in the RV, it's time to start your adventure! When you get to your first camp spot, take them for walks around the campsite and let them sniff everything. This will help them get familiar with their new surroundings. We always like to walk the entire campground the first day we arrive. Not only do the dogs get to take in all the smells and see all the people, but they get familiar with the area we are in.

Be patient, take it slow, and enjoy your time. Your first trip with your dogs and your RV should not be a crazy action-packed filled trip. You want to start off slow and give them a chance to understand what is going on. Your first trip might be best not to far from home. Always remember, this is all new to your dog and they are learning as they go! Relax, be patient and reward them for their good behavior!
When it's time to hit the road, start with shorter drives so that your dog can get used to the movement of the RV. Once they seem comfortable, you can start planning longer trips. Remember to take breaks often so that your dog can stretch their legs and relieve themselves. Be sure to bring along a leash and some poop bags.
