Jayco, Inc. chose the National RV Show in Louisville, Kentucky as the launch site for its new, ground-breaking Octane ZX® toy hauler line. Octane ZX is a value-priced, entry-level sport utility travel trailer that gets adventure-seekers where they need to go with the space they need to haul their recreational cargo.

Jayco’s president and chief operating officer Derald Bontrager said the company has “devoted extensive resources to studying the emerging toy hauler market. We have talked to prospective customers all over North America and they have told us loud and clear exactly the type of product they need. The new Octane ZX is part of our response to that valuable input.”

The Octane premiers with two floorplans: T21X and T24Z, according to Bontrager, more will follow. The T21X can sleep four adults comfortably while the T24Z can sleep six adults comfortably. Both units have a 12-foot garage cargo area.

The garage of the Octane is built to tow most types of “toys” including ATVs, bikes and other motorized and non-motorized cargo that needs to be taken on the road. The ramp equipment includes a spring-assisted, radius-cornered ramp door with a durable, non-skid surface and 1000 pound load rating.

The exterior sidewalls of the new coaches are mesa aluminum sided and are constructed of 2” x 2” non-dado studs, placed on 16” centers with R-7 fiberglass insulation glued in place. The tapered rafter roof features a durable EPDM rubberized surface material. The exterior graphics and logos reflect the active lifestyles of the product’s audience.

The Octane is not short on choices. Inside the coach consumers will find Manchester Oak cabinetry, linoleum throughout the cargo area, fold away sofa and dinette as well as a 12-volt demand water pup, cable TV hook up with satellite-ready cabling, and two interior color schemes.

The customer value package adds even more to the unit with options such as an outside grill, central A/C, Dolby digital surround sound home theater system, a Carefree® patio awning, luggage rack, a fuel station with a 25 gallon gas tank and a patio screen room.
